#ALDOFASHIONPARTY

(Asos dress, Mango bag, Zara sandals)

Was graciously invited to attend the Aldo Fashion Party to preview the launch of their spring line. Had a ball of a time eating popsicles, using the ring light for selfies, lusting over shoes and viewing a lovely fashion show.

Thank you to Huiyu for the invites!

JANUARY - MARCH BEAUTY FAVOURITES

I wanted to start a little series on my blog to feature my monthly favourite beauty and fashion items to kind of push me to post regular content for this space. But I got kinda stuck thinking of a substantial number of items per month, so I pulled together 3 months worth of products instead.

Hope you'll enjoy this series and let me know if you have any other types of posts you'll like to see on here!

Loving this piece of decor in my room since I got it last Christmas. Just look at that marble holder! It smells divine and it quickly fills up the entire room with scents of Cassis and Geranium. You can still get the short version on here.

Since its launch, the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint has been very well received so I thought I'd pick up a tube to try it out. I think it has a really pretty finish (like velvet) even without it being set with powder and it keeps my skin decently matte.

Only thing was I felt that the shade (Light 2; Alaska) I picked up was a little too yellow for my liking so I tend to mix it with my concealer to compensate.

Understated peach blushers are the best and this Peach Blush by Model's Own is just that. I received this as a gift and been using it every single day since I got it. It has a matte finish but with specks of shimmer so there's an iridescent glow to it. So so pretty and I've hit pan already.

I never believed in only using one mascara. For the full spidery effect, I coat my lashes the Heroine Make Long & Curl Waterproof mascara first before layering the Urban Decay Perversion mascara which is great for that extra boost of volume!

My favourite lip combo is with my Sephora Lip Liner To Go in Pale Beige and the MAC matte lipstick in Velvet Teddy. Peach mauve colour with a brown undertone is definitely my vibe.

Now on to skincare!

Sleeping in air-conditioning every night can cause the skin to be really dry throughout the night and that is never good. I love this Korean moisturiser from The Saem which is the Iceland Water Volume Cream for Oily skin because it is really lightweight in its gel consistency but nourishing enough to hydrate my skin throughout the night. Also, it is water-based and contains no alcohol which is always great ;)

And of course your lips should be moisturised too! This coconut balm dot com from Glossier is literally the BOMB DOT COM. It hydrates my lips like no other and I wake up to plump and moist lips every morning thanks to this! It is actually a universal skin salve which means you can also use it to help with dry patches on your skin.

Glossier products really hit the mark for me with my first order (see above for review on their lip balm). I was so impressed that I immediately went to place my next order. These two masks used together one after another makes my skin feel like velvet.

Used this as a spot treatment and it worked decent. I actually didn't like it all that much after awhile but it's in the flatlay so just a brief mention shall do.

A primer that refines, smooths and fills pores for that smooth canvas to put your foundation on. Plus points for affordability!

This roll-on perfume cost me a mere $10, what?! Honestly the perfume section at Zara is pretty decent so check it out if you can. This one is by far my favourite because it has a very pleasant floral woody scent that I think most people would like.

This body butter smells amazing! Sweet but bearably so. Very moisturising of course as this is the very dry skin formula and leaves your skin luxuriously soft I swear.

Alright, after all that long rambling I hope you did enjoy this short post about my Jan - Mar favourites and do let me know what other products I should try out if you think I might like it!

LOW DOWN

(Young Hungry Free Low Down dress, Superga sneakers)

Photos by Clara Xu, Edited by myself

Photo opportunity fulfilled when amazing sunshine spilled all over the Holland Village parking lots. Wearing this amazing mesh V-neck dress from Young Hungry Free that I bought in black as well. I always have to have two of the things I love. Had to hold myself back from buying the grey and maroon colour as well.

A DAY IN DENIM

(Velvet lace camisole - H&M, lace-up shorts - The Editor's Market, chain boots - Forever21)

Shot by Clara Xu

I don't really know why I don't seem to gravitate much to this denim jacket. But in the days that I do pick it out, I feel like it's the best ever? Biker details in the adjustment straps and a bomber fit - I'm sold. Probably why I bought it in the first place. Wore it out with a lace black camisole and my fav lace up shorts because all black is fun sometimes. (For all the people who think I dress head to toe in white all the time - you're wrong)

BALI 2015 PHOTO DIARY

Day 1: Finn's Beach Club
BEST BEACH CLUB EVER?!
I honestly gasped so loud when I first saw the view. To reach the beach was quite an adventure itself. We had to conquer rocky stone steps and even take an inclinator thing down to the beach bar. But it was worth it because the view from up there was simply GORGEOUS.

I think you pay for a standard cover charge and it includes some points to redeem for food/drinks as well, which I felt was very worth the money. You can chill by the beach, or have some food at the restaurant beside it, or swim in the infinity pool that overlooks the Indian Ocean. Erman and I loved it there so much we could spend all day there.

Tip: Early bird catches the worm. They have a max capacity and the umbrella spots are always filled up. We had to run to grab an umbrella spot.
Jimbaran Beach Seafood Dinner - Highly recommend to head there early to catch the sunset!

Area of stay: Seminyak Lagoon Hotel, Bali

We realised that if you are only interested in going to tourist-y locations, then stay in the Uluwatu area. It took us quite a bit of travelling time to head to Finn's Beach Club, which is also near Uluwatu Beach, Padang Padang Beach and Ayana Rock Bar (just to name a few). Seminyak area is good for shopping as the hotel we stayed at was a mere 10mins taxi ride to Seminyak Square.

Day 2: Shopping & Padang Padang Beach

Over-rated beach? It was a really tiny area, and was filled with people everywhere. Lovely sunset viewing point though.

Day 3: Potato Head Beach Club & Sea Circus for Tea Break

Potato Head was filled to the brim. There was barely anywhere for us to sit and chill. We had to wait for a seat to the restaurant, the pool was mad crowded and hence, we didn't take any photos in there at all. It may be due to the fact that there isn't a cover charge.

Anyway, we went out of Potato Head, towards the beach, where there was this one guy running his business of providing umbrellas and beds for a pretty cheap price. So we opted for that instead. After the crowd cleared a little bit, we went back in for a dip in the pool but it was nothing really special about that.

Anyway, Sea Circus is this really cute cafĂ© decorated with pastels and funky art everywhere. Do try it out if you can. Also, we dined at Ultimo in Seminyak Square area (highly recommended) on the 2nd night which was fantastic considering the price. Roughly SGD30 for a glass of wine, salad, soup, main (we both got the steak) and dessert. That's pretty insane. Thumbs up.

End photo diary.
